After a dry summer and fall, we’ve finally received some rain and snow melt in the Ozarks. The increase in flow and decrease in water clarity gave the Meramec River’s browns the confidence to go on a feeding frenzy and we scored big with streamers. Thin mints and my old reliable, the Olive Mohair Leech, were the best producers. Casting from the boat gave us access to spots that were tough to reach on foot. The browns really wanted an actively moving fly, and the strikes were fast and furious!
