At the risk of tempting fate, or maybe just rushing ahead on the calendar, its starting to feel like spring. For most folks, it’s the calling of the spring peepers from shallow ponds, green stems appearing here and there in the grass or just a few sunny, warm days that signals the change. But for fly fishers, it’s the active feeding of trout on a hatch of caddis or mayflies and the increasing activity of the trout themselves that proves that spring fishing is here. Sure, there will be a few more cold days, maybe even a little snow at times, but winter’s days are limited and it’s time to get serious about fishing.
