Euro Nymphing

Czech, French, Spanish, tight-line, contact… The techniques of fishing a nymph today come in many forms and associated names. “Euro” nymphing is the term most often heard and, in North America, usually practiced with a long rod, long leader and typically two bead head nymphs. The widespread adoption of european nymphing in North America has, arguably, revolutionized the way many anglers approach the sport. A proficient euro nymphing angler is likely going to be more successful, more often, than anglers who restrict themselves to other methods. While not always the best approach, there’s a reason why euro nymphing is the most commonly employed method in fly fishing competitions. If you haven’t tried it, let’s go fishing. I’ll bring a euro rig for you to try.
